Fibrous ureteroscope is a kind of delicate instrument with high cost and easy damage, which restricts the wide application of fibrous ureteroscope. Common causes of damage include: ① operator's wrong operation. Including laser fibers or other instruments to puncture the working channel; Laser fiber breakdown working channel; The ureteroscope overturns and bends, and the imaging fibers break. ② Mirror steering device fatigue. ③ Damage caused during cleaning, disinfection and packaging. The most common damaged parts of the soft mirror are the working channel, followed by the mirror body, the bending steering part and the eyepiece.
Poly Diagnost GmbH in Germany has designed and manufactured the PLOY combined fiberoptic ureteroscope. The soft mirror integrates the most vulnerable outer sheath of the lens, the steering operation part, and the flushing operation channel, and makes a disposable endoscopic catheter system that can be effectively bent on one side. The guide fiber that conducts cold light and the image transmission fiber that transmits images are independent and extend respectively to the optical port of the cold light source and the camera, and the tiny sapphire glass sheet seals the optical channel on the far side of the mirror. The standalone reusable optical system does not come into direct contact with the patient, so the optical system does not need to be disinfected to use, unlike ordinary fiber soft mirrors, the guide fiber and image transmission fiber are placed in the eyepiece handle. The eyepiece, camera, and two fiber bundles are separated from the catheter system of the endoscope and assembled in a sterile mode on the four arms at the side of the operating table, allowing the surgeon to perform the operation more easily.
