Principle of disposable tracheoscopy

Disposable tracheoscopes are made of flexible polymer materials that work by visualizing the internal structure of the airway. It consists of a mirror handle, a mirror tube, a light source, etc., and contains a miniature camera and some fiber optic cables. When used, the tracheoscope is inserted into the patient’s mouth or nasal cavity, into the trachea, and the tube is pushed inside the trachea, while the microscope’s image is transmitted to the screen. The doctor can look at this screen to determine if there is an abnormality inside the airway. The advantages of disposable tracheoscopes are that they do not require sterilization, are easy to use, and avoid the risk of re-infection.
